February-Rooted: A Kizomba Workshop Series
We’ve moved — and we’re settling in.
Roc Kizomba is officially dancing in our new home at Elevate Dance Center, 17 Pitkin Street, and February is about getting grounded in the space, in the music, and in yourself.
ROOTED is a two-part Kizomba workshop series designed to strengthen your foundation, deepen your connection, and refine the details that make your dance feel effortless and intentional.
Held over two Thursdays in February, each 2-hour session creates space to slow down and build with purpose — no flashy patterns, no performance pressure — just quality technique, clean movement, and meaningful partner work.
Throughout the series, dancers will focus on:
• Grounded movement and weight transfer
• Frame, posture, and body awareness
• Partner connection and subtle lead/follow communication
• Musical timing and flow
• Refining the fundamentals that elevate your social dance
This series is ideal for:
• Dancers who want to feel more confident socially
• Those returning after a break
• Newer dancers building strong foundations
• Experienced dancers ready to clean up their basics
• Anyone craving depth over trends
This is about dancing with intention.
Feeling secure in your body.
Moving with clarity instead of guessing.
All workshops will be held at:
